Pilates for the Core & More with Gigi Gould

6 Week Session Starts October 4th!
Tuesdays at 1:00-2:00PM -

$90 6 week session
$20 drop-in

We’ve all heard how Pilates strengthens your core, but there is so much more to it than that! Pilates is a way to re-establish how you stand, sit and move. Practicing the method involves neuromuscular re-education and is a great way to break out of old postural habits, or simply increase your movement efficiency for more active pursuits. Class members will receive individual attention for their specific needs.

Gigi Gould is a certified Pilates Instructor. She received her training at the Kane School in New York City. She is also a certified Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist through the Pink Ribbon Program. She studied dance and Benesh Movement Notation at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne, Australia, and has had the privilege to work with several prominent international dance companies, including NDT, Sydney Dance

Company and the Hamburg Ballet. It was while working for the Australian Ballet Company that she was first introduced to Pilates, and was thrilled to find it cured her of the constant backache that she had had for some time. That was 20 years ago, and she has kept it on as an integral part of her fitness program ever since. Her teaching style has an emphasis on correct alignment, the integration of breath, and creating better movement efficiency for all physical activities. Pilates is not just about developing a strong core, as many are inclined to think. The focus on the mind/body connection has a role in centering the mind, as much as the body.
